In this workshop, we'll explore barridas (sweeps), ganchos, and enganches—movements that create a captivating conversation between partners through the legs. Whether subtle and silky or sharp and dynamic, these figures can add texture, musicality, and surprise to your dance.
In this workshop, you will:
Avoid common habits that make barridas, ganchos, and enganches feel awkward or forced
Learn the essential mechanics of balance, grounding, and leg dissociation that make these movements feel effortless
Increase your awareness to rhythmic vs. melodic instruments in the music
Learn the core principles that apply across a variety of sweeps, hooks, and wraps.
This workshop is perfect for dancers with solid basics ready to step into intermediate tango territory, whether you're working towards Level 4 at Tango Tuesday at La Pista or seeking to build a stronger tango foundation for any more advanced class.
With a max of 12 students, you’ll get personalized attention and the opportunity to progress at your own pace.
